Baby B is a BOY!!

We have a little Boy on the way!! We are both so excited. Kyle already has his athletic future all mapped out, so I hope he enjoys sports! It was so exciting to see the baby today. It is amazing how much he has already grown. He was very active today during the ultrasound. We even got to see him suck his thumb! One of the pictures below is of him bringing his thumb to his mouth. The doctor said everything looked and sounded great. His heart beat is still in the 160s. I actually lost a little weight since the last visit, so I still don't look much different. My stomach is looking a little fuller so hopefully soon I will have a definite baby bump.

After the doctor visit Kyle and I spent many hours looking around at all the local baby stores! I never thought picking bedding and a crib would be so overwhelming. Hopefully, the next time we go shopping we can make a decision!

Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas! Happy New Year!

Love you all!

The Beginning of the Bertholf Baby Blog!

As you all may know Kyle and I are expecting our first bundle of joy! And after finally having some free time and some encouragement from a few pals (Whitney & Courtney) I have joined the baby blog bandwagon. Hopefully, I can keep up with it and make it as enjoyable as my friends have done with theirs.

The discovery of the new addition to our family did not happen for us the traditional way. The week of September 20th I kept having serve lower ab pain. Finally on Saturday, September 25th the pain was so serve I couldn't even stand! So Kyle insisted we go to the hospital. Boy, if only we knew what laid ahead. After taking my blood and waiting in the ER waiting room for hours we finally saw the doctor. At first he thought it sounded like I had kidney stones and he ordered an ultrasound. He stepped out of the room for a second to look at the results from my blood test and immediately walked back in and sat next to me to inform me I was PREGNANT! Kyle was so busy watching the OU game on the tiny ER TV he didn't even catch what the doctor was telling me. Once it finally registered for Kyle, he made the doctor repeat what he had just said. September 25th will forever be a day Kyle and I will not forget. The pain ended up being cyst on my ovaries that were popping, they are gone and everything is fine.

We had our first obgyn appointment on October 18th to find out exactly how far along we were. At that point we were 8 weeks and everything looked great on our ultrasound. Baby B is due May 31st!

Between weeks 7 and 11, I was nauseas almost all day everyday. Luckily, I only had the nausea feeling! Other than the nausea feeling I haven't had to many other strong symptoms.

I am 17 weeks as of today and I am still wearing regular clothes. As soon as there is a bump to show I will post pictures. We find out Dec. 28th what Baby B is so check back next week to find out the gender!! Below is our Baby's first picture.

Love you all!
