April Showers, Bring May Babies!

This week we were blessed with two wonderful baby showers. Wednesday afternoon was a shower thrown by my teammates at work, and Thursday was a shower thrown by my class homeroom mothers. They both were so wonderful and we were given so many precious and needed items for Carson!

The shower at school was rubber duckie theme.
This is the sign that was outside the clubhouse for my class baby shower. It was a jungle theme.

I will be 36 weeks on Tuesday! I can not believe May has finally arrived!! I'm still feeling good, but of course there are times I feel really uncomfortable and tired. We finally went and got a car seat so whenever he wants to arrive we are as ready as we can be!

We had our regular check up on Tuesday, and everything continued to look great! Carson flipped into the correct position! So let's pray he stays there now, and I had gained a few lbs. His heart rate was back up into the 150s.
Tuesday was also our last night of birthing classes. We got to see the rooms Carson will be delivered in, which made me feel a little more relaxed about the big day now that I can picture where we will be. Then on Wednesday we went to Baby Care class. We learned a lot about the baby products that are on the market, car seat safety, and how to wash, diaper, and swaddle a baby. It was a lot to take in! But I think we both really enjoyed it and learned some good stuff.
Last weekend was super busy so this weekend we are looking forward to relaxing and enjoying Easter with the family!

Happy Easter! Love you all!!

33 1/2 weeks!

Every Friday is spirit day at school and I haven't broke down and bought any bigger spirit wear so I am still squeezing into my regular Deer Creek wear!

Since Carson is running out of room his movements are a little more uncomfortable and he moves a lot! We are going to the Dr. on Tuesday and I am hoping he may have moved closer to the position he needs to be in for his big debut. Tuesday is also our final birthing class. I am glad we got a chance to take the classes. A lot of the information was of course a little scary but I feel better knowing the terminology and a little more of what to expect. Wednesday night we are taking a baby care class at the hospital. Kyle has had some concerns about how to give a bath and change a diaper so I hope this class can help calm some of his concerns.

Kyle has finally completed his big busy season job, so we actually get to spend some time together this weekend! We are going to the Red & White scrimmage to see how our Sooners will look in 2011, and Kyle got lucky and was given some Thunder playoff tickets for tomorrow night!!

Hope you all have a good weekend too! Love you all!

We had our two week check up today. Carson's heart beat was down into the 140s. The doc felt around my stomach today and discovered Carson is breeched. She of course said not to worry since he still has time to get into position, but not worrying is easier said then done! I also have not gained a pound since the last time I went to the doctor! I swear I eat, I'm not sure why the scale doesn't show that. My doc always reminds me that her mother only gained 8lbs with her and she was a perfectly healthy baby, so only gaining 10lbs this far is ok. Regardless of the lack of weight gain and Carson being bottom down the doctor still feels we are both doing great!

Baby Shower!

Today was our fabulous baby shower, thrown by some wonderful friends and my family. Kyle had my mom and sister bring me a surprise shower gift from him, a digital video camera! He wanted me to open it first so we could record the shower. I was so touched by the gift I got choked up! So as soon as I learn to work it be expecting some short videos! (Thanks Jennifer for recording the shower today, Kyle enjoyed seeing how it all went.) Here is a just peek of some of the wonderful things everyone did for Kyle, Carson, and me!
My friend Julie and her mother made this cake for the shower.

My sister had this adorable diaper cake made!
My friend Whitney and her future mother in law spent their Saturday afternoon making these yummy cookies. Some said "I love you Mommy","OU", "Carson", and others had ties on them.

Here are just a few of the precious gifts we received.

Thank you to everyone who showered us with love today. We can not tell you enough how blessed we feel to have such amazing people in our lives that are helping to welcome Carson into this world. We were truly touched by all the wonderful gifts!

I will be 32 weeks on Tuesday! I can not believe we are 8 weeks away from meeting our little bundle of joy. Last Tuesday, Kyle and I started our birthing classes and we actually knew two couples in our class. That made the whole night a lot more enjoyable. Our teacher has a very funny sense of humor so it made us all feel more at ease. The first class was more like a brief overview of the whole birthing experience. We also learned a few relaxation exercises. We are anxious to see how this weeks class goes!

Kyle's work schedule is hopefully slowing down now, so I am very excited to spend some more time together and finish preparing for Carson!

Love you all!
